Job Description

Are you ready to own something big? Automox is turning IT admins into IT heroes by replacing traditional tools with our award winning cloud-native endpoint management platform. Our product works autonomously and so do our teams. We value a ‘one team’ mentality where everyone’s unique skills contribute to an environment that encourages collaboration and ownership. At Automox you’re enabled to do your best work, grow your career, and have an impact that will be noticeable. WE ARE A_TOMOX… all that’s missing is U!
OVERVIEW

You are an innately curious software developer who is dedicated to your craft; you write code that you are proud of and enjoy being the go to technical leader on any team you’re on. You understand that SaaS software delivery necessitates innovation and speed of execution.  You want to be a part of a creative and enterprising team with challenging problems to solve. As a Staff Engineer you pride yourself on mentorship and being a strong technical leader who values working in a collaborative remote environment.  Collaborating with the team to come up with the best solution for your customer is what fuels your fire. If this sounds like you take a closer look at what this role entails.
AS A STAFF SOFTWARE ENGINEER ON THE AGENT TEAM YOU WILL

Research, design, develop, and own solutions that provide feature-rich experiences in our Agent application that runs on over 1 million endpoints globally across all three major operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux).
Lead by example by championing software development best practices, and writing well-designed code.
Extend, enhance, and evolve our endpoint software to enable delivery of new platform and client-side features.
Own the team’s initiatives from inception to delivery
Act as a subject matter expert over the technical direction and evolution of the Automox Agent
Work with engineering leadership to break down some of the hardest problems at Automox to drive incremental delivery of new agent capabilities
Collaborate cross-functionally with other engineering leaders to align the goals of the Agent Team with the broader R&D organization’s goals
Contribute to continual improvement by testing, performance tuning, refactoring, usability improvements, and automation.
Produce detailed specifications, and contribute in all phases of the engineering lifecycle.
Operate with a quality-first mindset. Your approach to testing sets you apart from your peers.
Make data-driven decisions. You understand the impact of your development before it reaches production.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

Experience working as a Software Engineer developing features on an Agent/IoT application is required.
10+ years of experience designing, developing, testing, monitoring, and maintaining cloud-connected client-side applications.
Programming experience in Golang is preferred. That being said, the right candidate will leverage their extensive engineering background to be impactful in any language.
Some familiarity with systems programming, networking, virtual machine orchestration,  DevOps, and shell-scripting languages (Bash/Powershell)
Windows and/or Linux and/or MacOS application development experience.
Passion for mentoring and developing a team of diverse engineers, ensuring an inclusive culture where everyone’s voices, backgrounds, and experiences are valued and integrated into solutions.
Demonstrated history of delivering enterprise-level software in an agile environment
Experience and comfort working with a remote team across multiple time zones.

Effective communication with leadership and engineers regarding planning, reporting, status and/or conflict/blocker mitigation.
Promoter of transparency, visibility, and documentation across the team.
Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, sufficient for success in a remote and largely asynchronous work environment.
